The Taurus Auto Drafting Cattle Crush uses advanced sensors and integrated components, including a weigh scale, load bars and EID reader to automate the cattle handling process.
The Taurus Auto Drafting Cattle Crush Range is available in 3 different drafting modules, allowing you to maximise your cattle handling space or existing facilities.
1
This configuration uses the side gates of the Cattle Crush as the sorting gates. Pneumatic rams open and close the side gates automatically. This suits situations that have limited length. The yard design for this set-up needs to consider operator safety as the cattle could exit into the working area.
2
This configuration is called ‘in-line drafting’. The cattle leave the crush and exit through drafting gates in front which automatically open and close. This configuration is very safe and efficient to use and it provides the fastest sequence time.
3
For bigger operations needing to sort more than 3 ways, the crush can be configured with a 5-way drafting module.
The powered functions on the Taurus Auto Drafter give the operator full control over the entry gate, parallel squeeze, headbail and drafting gates. The hydraulic crush also features powered vet doors and a head scoop. But which option is right for you?
As standard, the Taurus Auto Drafter uses pneumatic power (compressed air) to operate the various powered components. Pneumatics are more affordable than hydraulics, but produce more noise when operating.
The Taurus Hydraulic Cattle Crush is a world-leading Auto-Drafting System. With the ability to auto headbail catch, near-silent operation and immediate response, this system stands in a class of its own.
A World First; The Taurus Automatic Headbail catch is available only on hydraulic models and allows operators to automatically catch animals in the headbail.
When processing, the animal is automatically held and presented straight to the vet. Using the front controls, a vet can then treat the animal and release them without having to step back to the main control dashboard. This reduces the number of people and time required to process cattle, therefore saving you money and also helping keep the animals calm.
With separate controls at the front and rear of the cattle crush and the convenient wireless remote, the Taurus cattle crush puts you in total control.
The rear console houses the Taurus control panel and weigh scale. From here, the operator has complete manual control over the cattle crush. A lockable cover can be placed over the console when not in use to protect against weather damage or theft.
The wireless remote control gives the operator complete control of the cattle crush and can be used to switch from auto to manual mode at any stage. The compact design and large buttons make it easy to use.
Mounted at the front of the cattle crush is a compact control box that gives the operator control over the head bail, parallel squeeze and entry gate without leaving the operating area.
Minimises unwanted movement by reducing the size of the animal compartment from 750mm to 410mm; this is useful for weighing young stock or managing larger animals during calving or breeding procedures.
The 3-piece gate system has two inspection gates in the upper gate, a lower sheeted gate and an integrated anti-backing bar system.
A removable bar in the squeeze frame provides easy access to the animal's neck, which is ideal for injection treatments
This gate system allows for unimpeded access to the animal.
Vet access doors provide easy access to the animal's rear for breeding or veterinary procedures.
The lower gate has a foot-operated kick-latch and can 'slam shut' in either direction. A drop latch can lock both gates together for easy operation as a single gate.
The hard-wearing, anti-skid rubber floor provides a quiet and natural operating surface for cattle. The rubber is bolted to a steel floor, giving the crush superior rigidity and strength.
The patented eRail integrated EID reader is an accessory to the 3-piece gate system. With the EID antennas built into the gate frame, the operator can then see through to the headbail without visual obstruction, unlike traditional EID readers.
The split race sliding gate is fully sheeted to provide a visual barrier. Powered by an air ram on top of the gate, it requires the operator to open and close (via the remote control) for each animal to enter, staggering the flow as they approach the automatic sorter. No bottom track on the gate means that any build-up of mud won’t affect the gate operation
The anti-rattle slam latches have nylon bush inserts that reduce steel-on-steel noise. The glass-reinforced plastic handles ensure smooth, effortless operation.
All of Te Pari’s livestock equipment is 'hot dip' galvanised for the ultimate protection against corrosion. This galvanising process ensures complete coverage of all components, inside and out.
The pre-drilled Load bar mounting plates are compatible with Te Pari, Gallagher, and Tru-Test load bars.
The Taurus Cattle Crush is an all-in-one solution and can integrate into an existing yard system with minimal effort.
The Taurus Cattle Crush improves operator efficiency by automating much of the livestock handling process. By automating the weighing and drafting of your cattle, you reduce the amount of labour required and minimise the operator's contact with livestock, reducing the risk of injury.
The Taurus Cattle Crush can automatically draft your livestock with minimal operator intervention. It offers the option to draft animals from the sides of the crush or the 3 or 5-way drafting gates. Using either the Te Pari Macrotock, Gallagher TW or Tru-Test 5000 Series scales, the operator can quickly draft animals based on various criteria such as weight, sex, breed and more.
To truly understand the well-being and profitability of your livestock, it is crucial to have precise animal tracking and data collection. The Taurus Cattle Crush provides an all-in-one solution to automatically scan an animal's EID tag and record essential data such as weight or treatments given. This data is available in the MacroStock web applications, our all-in-one data analysis tool.
